RIDING FOR A CAUSE

This year GripGrab supported Cykelnerven through fundraising and participation, helping raise funds for multiple sclerosis research while meeting the people at the heart of the cause.

FRANCE, JUNE 2026

This year, GripGrab's owners and founders, brothers Kristian and Martin Krøyer, supported Cykelnerven through both fundraising and participation. Organised by the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society, Cykelnerven brings together cyclists from across Denmark to raise funds for research into multiple sclerosis, culminating in a shared experience in the French Alps.

After raising 191,000 DKK for multiple sclerosis research, Kristian and Martin joined fellow fundraisers, ambassadors, volunteers and people living with multiple sclerosis for the annual event. For the brothers, the experience became much more than a cycling challenge.

MORE THAN MOUNTAINS
The days spent in the Alps were filled with unforgettable climbs, breathtaking scenery and long hours on the bike. But the strongest memories came from the people. Martin and Kristian met cyclists who shared the same passion for riding and discovered new friendships along the way. They were supported by volunteers, organisers and countless people working behind the scenes to create an exceptional experience for everyone involved. Most impactful were the meetings with the so called Gold Riders, participants who themselves live with multiple sclerosis. One rider in particular left a lasting impression.

Meeting Nicolai was a reminder that this disease can affect any of us. What inspired me most was his attitude. He met everyone with positivity, never asked for sympathy and simply focused on making the most of life.

CYCLING HISTORY
The route included some of the most legendary climbs in professional cycling. Riding up Col du Granon, Martin could not help but think about the moment Jonas Vingegaard made the decisive move against Tadej Pogačar during the 2022 Tour de France. The mountains offered another kind of perspective as well. Standing at more than 2,400 metres above sea level, surrounded by endless peaks and dramatic landscapes, it was impossible not to feel humbled by the scale and beauty of nature.

SUPPORTING CYKELNERVEN
At GripGrab, cycling has always been about more than performance. It's about community, shared experiences and the positive impact cycling can have on people's lives. Supporting Cykelnerven felt like a natural extension of those values.

As part of the initiative, GripGrab organised a warehouse sale where 50% of all sales were donated directly to Cykelnerven. The campaign raised 191,000 DKK for multiple sclerosis research while giving old products and sales samples a new purpose. Cyclists could purchase quality cycling gear at reduced prices while contributing to an important cause.

TOGETHER
For Martin and Kristian, one of the strongest impressions from Cykelnerven was the community surrounding it. Bringing together fundraisers, volunteers and people living with multiple sclerosis, the event offered a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people unite around a shared purpose. Experiencing it together made the journey even more memorable. From fundraising efforts at home to long days in the mountains, the brothers shared every step of the experience while representing the values and passion for cycling that continue to shape GripGrab today.
